A trip to Bitterroot National Forest when you're here at Slate Creek Campground is never a bad idea; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Lost Trail Powder Mountain is relatively near. All year is a wonderful time in the Bitterroot Range if you love the outdoors. There's fine hiking along the Coal Ridge Trail, and let's not forget Slate Creek which is a stream that you may run into while you're here.

can do is swimming, whitewater paddling, fishing, and hiking, so running out of exciting things to do won’t happen. Get covered with water paddling on Salmon River, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Castle Rock Trail.

here at Slate Creek Campground. The Trapper Peak Trail offers hiking at its best; not far from Slate Creek Campground you'll find Painted Rocks Lake which is a beautiful lake.
