Flathead National Forest is worth stopping at if you're at Devil Creek Campground, and on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Devil Creek Trail. Shields Creek is a great local stream, and there are tremendous places to explore along the Giefer Twentyfive Mile Creek Trail.
Going for a hike on the Autumn Creek Trail is always a delightful adventure, and paddling on Flathead River - Middle Fork is so much fun.
