The great variety of local attractions and all the outdoors recreation will make you pleased you came. Big Nelson Campground gets very little rain; the wettest month of the year is generally January, that's the one that snows the most, and July is the month with the least moisture.

whitewater spots on Flathead River - South Fork. And that's not all you can do here at Big Nelson Campground. Float down the rapids of Blackfoot River - North Fork in a kayak, and you can go for a hike on the Mineral Creek Trail. It's a magnificent idea to pop by McDermott Creek,
it's near Big Nelson Campground, and there's magnificent hiking along the Meadow Creek Trail.
Big Nelson Campground is an old favorite with visitors from Lincoln.
