Basin Campground, Absaroka Range, Montana   Basin Campground is a campground that is exceptionally esteemed by the folks from Red Lodge. The yearly rain here at Basin Campground is about average; the month with most of the rain is May while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Red Lodge Mountain is a pleasant local ski area; there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. There are so many entertaining things in the vicinity of Basin Campground, and it is a great escape from everyday life. Cooney Reservoir State Park is a splendid location to go if you're at Basin Campground, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Rock Creek. That right there is a heap of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Absaroka Range has it all. Buffalo Bill State Park is worth taking a look at if you're at Basin Campground, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Beartooth Loop National Recreation Trail. The wonderful pick of local attractions, and such a wonderful   variety of outdoors recreation will make you glad you came. All through the warmest time of the year here at Basin Campground, high temperatures usually get into the 70's while nighttime lows are typically in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Basin Campground drop into the 10's. This is truly a great campground. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Basin Campground; Custer National Forest Trail is a great local trail. You clearly must have a thing about Basin Campground. Take a hike on the Beauty Lake Trail; Nichols Peak is clearly visible from Basin Campground. There's a lot of outdoors recreation available around here such as whitewater paddling, and hiking, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. Montana is a great outdoors state. Basin Campground is right by the Morrison Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Rosebud Creek - East offers some magnificent whitewater.
