| | I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf Says jkf2004@aol.com

do that, and a visit to Judge C.R. Magney State Park is a tremendous idea. Two Island Lake Campground is right by the Stairway Portage, and hiking along the Long Portage is wonderful fun. Have a splendid hiking adventure along the South Lake Portage, and Cascade River has a good
| whitewater paddling spot nearby. Why not take a refreshing hike along the North Shore State Trail, and a glorious spot for whitewater paddling is Cascade River.
This campground has so much fun stuff to offer. Going for a hike along the Height of Land Portage will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; in case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Devil Track River. the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 10's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Two Island Lake Campground plunge into the-10's. If you come to this campground, you will have a pleasant time for sure.
Two Island Lake Campground gets a typical
amount of yearly rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is February. Be careful coming to Two Island Lake Campground, you might not ever want to return back home again. A journey to Two Island Lake Campground wouldn’t be complete without
a visit to close by Cascade River State Park; not far from Two Island Lake Campground you'll come across Pit Lake which is a striking lake.
