A type I-II(IV), 9.7-mile-long whitewater section can be found on nearby Ontonagon       River, the Thayer Road to FS Road 178 sector. When the conditions are right this section of Ontonagon River is an amusing section of river for whitewater rafting and kayaking. Whitewater paddling could become treacherous, so check   circumstances in advance of a trip. The North Country National Scenic Trail offers hiking at its best; Lake Gogebic State Park is a picturesque site any time of year. These mountains rock, just check out all the exciting things to do in the Gogebic Range.
