A round of golf at nearby Merriland Farm Golf Course is a great way to kill some time; the slopes of Shawnee Peak are so inviting noone can resist. Beaches are nice; and Laudholm Beach next to Yankeeland Campground is no exception, and a quick spree to Sucker Brook is certainly
a great idea. This is such a good campground. There are plenty of folks from Kennebunk here at Yankeeland Campground, and whitewater paddling is fine on Little River. Yankeeland Campground is an old favorite with the people in Kennebunk. A lake nearby is Old Falls Pond,
and Vaughan Woods Memorial State Park is a good location to go. Yankeeland Campground usually gets a good deal of rain; the month with most of the rain is November while September is generally the driest month. Places like The Plains are tremendous to go to, and in the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Saco River.
