There is a nice hiking trail near Loons Cry Campground called the Mount Battie Trail, and a good place for whitewater paddling is Sheepscot River.
Loads of folks camp here so they can go to Damariscotta Lake State Park. At Loons Cry Campground entertaining stuff to do is plentiful; if you're searching for a great site to go for a camping trip, this is a brilliant pick.
