|
| | I am one of the owners of this campground.?A camper has made his own website, but it is NOT our official website and may contain old or inaccurate information.?Please check our website at www.hermitisland.com for accurate, up-to-date information. Says Christina
My husband Tim & I spent a week on Hermit Island 2 years ago. This was my 1st time and his 6th. It is a magical place where the stars abound in the sky while the sound of the ocean soothes the soul. Sitting on the rocks at the beach on a star-filled night is as close to heaven as one can |
get. There is no place like it. Walking along the roads and paths at night, coming upon deer and owls. Wow, it is truly an experience. We love it. Says Kesta
Hermit Island is easily my favorite place to vacation. I've been going there every year for 11 years now, and
| I love it even more everytime I go. I have found that the people I have met there have become life-long friends, and they all share the same love for Hermit Island. It's near impossible to try to explain why Hermit Island is so great. It's just one of those places that you fall in love with, and never want to leave. There's something magical about that island. I highly recommend camping there to anyone. Says Jen
A brilliant sight of scenic Haskell Hill is available from Hermit Island Campground, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but | |
|
if it's for you then, we recommend Sheepscot River. Some close by water includes Sprague River, and if you're looking for a beach nearby we recommend Hunnewell Beach. The high level of precipitation makes Hermit Island Campground a pretty wet place; November is when you get the
most rain here, and the driest month of the year is July. Now, you may assume that's heaps but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Hermit Island Campground. Wallace Head is not far from Hermit Island Campground at all, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Royal River.
High temperatures at Hermit Island Campground all through the warmest time of the year are in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Hermit Island Campground are in the 10's. If you
feel like a little side trip, try Gooseberry Island Ledge, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Head Beach. Here at Hermit Island Campground you'll in all probability meet some folks from Phippsburg, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Cathance River. This
is such a scenic campground. Skiing at Lost Valley is one of those things you just must do; don't leave without popping by Popham Beach State Park. This is such a delightful campground. If you get bored of Hermit Island Campground, you could also visit nearby Cape Small Pond, and a nice location like Reid State Park is too great to leave out.
