Sawyer Campground, Cumberland Plateau Mountains, Kentucky

  This part of Kentucky is always a delight to stop by through camping season. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Cliffside Trail; there's whitewater on Bark Camp Creek for all you thrill seekers. Sawyer Campground ordinarily gets a great deal of rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Yeah, come here to Sawyer Campground for a fine time. Have a perfect hiking adventure along the Ned Branch Trail, and don't leave without popping by Cumberland Falls State Park.
    Outdoors recreation is bountiful, some of the entertaining stuff you can do is hiking, and whitewater paddling, so most likely you want to stick around for a while. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Get
your heart beating on the delightful whitewater of Laurel River, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Peter Branch Trail.
That right there is a load of enjoyable stuff already but it goes on, the Cumberland Plateau Mountains has it all. A glorious site like General Burnside Island State Park in the vicinity of Sawyer Campground is too delightful to leave out, and the Lakeside South Trail offers hiking at its best. Loads of folks stay at this campground in order to be right next door to Cumberland Falls State Park. So many local attractions
 
and the fine variety of outdoors recreation will beyond doubt have you coming back many times.
A campground like this is too perfect to miss. Take a hike on the Twin Branch Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Cumberland River. Throughout the warm months at Sawyer Campground temperatures are frequently in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are generally in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Sawyer Campground.
Near Sawyer Campground you locate Cold Spring Hollow which is a wonderful spot to stop by, and obviously Long Branch is a picturesque stream that is worth checking out. Sawyer Campground is to be found in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains.
This is a perfect campground. Don't miss out on a tour to Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area while you're here at Sawyer Campground, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Parkers Lake.
