If you come at the right time of year, Laurel River offers some delightful whitewater, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the Cumberland Falls Trail Number Two. This campground has everything. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cumberland River, and while you're here, you might as well take a look at Broad Gap Hollow.
While going to this region in Kentucky it's a great idea to go for a weekend of camping too.
