Buck Ridge Campground, Illinois Custom Search   I am very disappointed to see that Buck Ridge Campground is still closed. This was my favorite place to camp. My tent rarely comes out of the closet since this tragic closing. The last year I camped there I learned it would be closing because of the lack of funds. This is very sad as this is true camping at its best. I bought a pontoon boat this year and plan to keep it at the Lake of Egypt. I am saddened there is no true camping on this beautiful lake       any longer. Many of my friends would come down and camp for weeks at a time and enjoy the boat if this place would re open. This place is secluded, quiet and full of nature. This is a loss that is still hard for me to overcome every   Spring and Summer. Sad in Marion, Il Says Julie Buck Ridge Campground was closed in 2007 and I'm very upset to see that happen. The area is depressed and could really benefit from this wonderful campground. You can still hike in but we will miss our trips and the wonderful memories that awaited us. I'm truly upset about this loss. The park is gorgeous. At Buck Ridge Campground you could get a more delightful wilderness experience than you would get at a more civilized campground. Natural attractiveness   surrounds this primitive campground, and primitive campgrounds such as this one can be hard to get to, but they are pretty. All the good local attractions in the vicinity and the nearby outdoors recreation are glorious incentives to come. As long as you adore the outdoors you will adore Illinois.
