From a precipitation point of view Whitewater Campground is a reasonably normal location; the month with most of the snow is January, and July is when it's     the driest. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Clearwater Mountains. Get your heart pumping on the nice whitewater of Salmon River - South Fork, and great hiking is available along the Anderson Butte National Recreation Trail. Near Whitewater Campground you stumble on the Chamberlain Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail, and one of the major highlights of the surroundings of Whitewater Campground is Vitta Point. The wonderful local attractions and the close by outdoors recreation are fine reasons to come. This is a delightful campground. A campground like this is too delightful to miss. Go for a hike on the Bismark Trail; a great location like Nez Perce National Forest is too great to leave out. There's so much stuff to do next to Whitewater Campground, and it is a good escape from the ordinary.   If you crave a little side spree, try Kenmitzer Bar, and some nearby water includes Robertson Creek. As if Whitewater Campground wasn't sufficient, you can also go hiking, and whitewater paddling, so it's just not possible to get bored. This place, the Clearwater Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining things. Going for a hike on the Three Blaze Trail is always a great adventure, and a splendid site for whitewater paddling is Big Creek. Get your sleeping bag packed and leave the city behind; Whitewater Campground in Idaho is such a good site. High temperatures at Whitewater Campground through the warm days of summer are in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's with temperatures at Whitewater Campground dipping down into the 10's through winter nights.
