Hiking is a popular thing to do around White Sand Campground; Colgate Licks Nature National Recreation Trail is a perfect local trail; don't leave White Sand Campground without first going for a hike along the Granite Ridge Trail. This campground is a magnificent spot to explore. Clearwater National Forest is a good location to go if you're at White Sand Campground, and get wet paddling on White Sand Creek.
