If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Bitterroot Range. There's wonderful hiking along the Colgate Licks Nature National Recreation Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, White Sand Creek offers some splendid whitewater. High temperatures at White Sand Campground throughout the warm months are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures |
plunge down into the 40's. Highs through the winter are generally in the 30's; during the dark hours in the winter at White Sand Campground temperatures plunge to the 10's.
There's just no way anybody can get bored here at White Sand Campground. Go for a hike on the State Line
| Trail, and don't leave without popping by Clearwater National Forest. Don't leave White Sand Campground without first going for a hike along the Lee Ridge Trail; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Big Sand Creek.
Glide down the rapids of Crooked Fork in a kayak; everyone loves Star Meadows. This is such a beautiful campground. The top of Goat Roost is easily seen from White Sand Campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around White Sand Campground; Tepee Ridge Trail is a fine local trail.
