Talmaks Campground, Idaho

| | Talmaks is an annual church camp meeting for the Nez Perce Indians and is not a public campground. It is located on Nez Perce Tribal property.
You can run the rapids of Imnaha River near Talmaks Campground, and a fine site like Dworshak State Park is too great to leave out. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Clearwater River, and there are other places here than Talmaks Campground, for example Lapwai Lake. Talmaks Campground is a good place of typical rain; during November this area sees the most rain, |
and the driest month is July. Just can't get enough of Talmaks Campground.
Throughout the summer months, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Talmaks Campground. For the period of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. Through the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's;
| overnight lows at Talmaks Campground through the winter mostly descend into the 20's. Mason Butte is wonderful and can be made out from Talmaks Campground; a tour here wouldn’t be complete without a journey to nearby Winchester Lake State Park. This is such a fun place for a campground. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Salmon River, and the smiling folks of Winchester like to hang out nearby.
