Summit Lake Campground, Salmon River Mountains, Idaho

  There's loads of outdoors recreation available around here such as hiking, and whitewater paddling, so it's just not possible to get bored. A visit to Idaho is not complete without some camping.
So much cool stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains, not enough time. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Johnson Creek, and Boise National Forest is both fine and scenic. Coming to this campground is always a great idea. If you come at the right time of year, Salmon River - South Fork offers some perfect whitewater,
    and hiking is a popular thing to do around Summit Lake Campground; Trout Creek Trail is a fine local trail.
This campground is so charming. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Summit Lake Campground, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. Throughout the winter
highs are commonly in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Summit Lake Campground temperatures dip to the 0's. The amount of rainfall that falls at Summit Lake Campground is close to the national average; January is the month that gets the most snow, and July is the month with the least moisture.
All the wonderful local attractions around here and the close by outdoors recreation are pleasant motives to come. At Summit Lake Campground enjoyable stuff to do is abundant, and when you're here you're always having a glorious time. Hiking
 
along the Switchback Trail is glorious fun, and Landmark Rock is something you shouldn't miss while you're here.
If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll adore Summit Lake Campground. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Johnson Creek, and Summit Lake Campground is right by the Rice Peak Trail. The panorama of Warm Lake Summit from Summit Lake Campground is gorgeous, and great hiking is available along the Rock Creek Trail.
There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Salmon River Mountains. You positively should check out Payette National Forest while you're here at Summit Lake Campground, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Burnt Log Trail. We should all go for a camping trip sometimes, and Summit Lake Campground in Idaho is a glorious site to go.
This camp ground is one of the great places to camp here in the Salmon River Mountains.
