When you arrive at this primitive campground you will realize it was well worth the effort getting here. This primitive campground is positioned in a fantastically beautiful spot. There are fine tent sites here where you could pitch that tent; there aren't loads of conveniences at Stanley Lake Campground because it is a primitive campground. The Sawtooth Range scenery is always beautiful.
Camping out certainly is a great thing to do; Stanley Lake Campground in Idaho is the outdoors at its finest. Among the things you can do in close proximity to Stanley Lake Campground
 
    are swimming, fishing, whitewater paddling, and hiking, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen.
Scores of people stay at this campground when going to Challis National Forest. There is so much cool stuff close
 to Stanley Lake Campground; many folks like to come here to get away.

On Salmon River you run into the nearby Stanley to Old Sunbeam Dam sector. This is a grade III-IV, 13-mile-long bit of whitewater. Whitewater paddlers on this bit of Salmon River should hold a little bit of familiarity in whitewater rafting or kayaking.
 
You have to check the latest conditions ahead of going; whitewater rafting or kayaking may become dangerous. There is a nice hiking trail right next door to Stanley Lake Campground called the Yellow Belly Trail.
