Around Papoose Campground you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is July. Yep, outdoors enjoyable things truly is bountiful here in the Wallowa Mountains. There is a wonderful hiking trail in the vicinity of Papoose Campground called the Rapid River Trail, and get dripping wet paddling on Hazard Creek. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Snake River; a spree to Ponderosa State Park revives the |
spirit. Through the summer highs here at Papoose Campground get into the 90's; the overnight is a tad colder of course, frequently in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Papoose Campground dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. If

Near Papoose Campground you locate the Deep Creek Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail, and you're sure to come across some fine folks from Riggins here.
