Nickelplate Mountain is lovely and can be seen from Nordman Campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Sullivan River offers some good whitewater. A day on the slopes of Schweitzer is just what you need; at Nordman Campground you always meet someone from Nordman. Blacktail Creek is a tremendous local stream, and if you get bored of Nordman Campground you could also have a look at close by Reeder Lake.
