Nearby there is a good 13-mile-long grade III-IV whitewater run, the Stanley to Old Sunbeam Dam segment of Salmon River. The Stanley to Old Sunbeam Dam segment of Salmon River is suited for raft paddlers who have been whitewater boating for a while but who are not yet ready for the truly risky rapids. In the event that you are going whitewater boating, you have to always check circumstances.
 
The slopes of Soldier Mountain are so inviting noone can resist, and going for a hike along the Yellow Belly Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region.
