If natural splendor is what you desire, this primitive campground is what you want. This is a primitive camp ground which as expected means that there are not too many services. Primitive camping is an excellent way to be near nature. Primitive campgrounds like this one could be demanding to get to, but they are scenic. You need to get out of the house, and Hood Ranch Campground, Idaho is a splendid place for getting out. It's completely out of the question to run out of fun stuff to do close to Hood Ranch Campground; being here is splendid fun any time.
There's more to do near Hood Ranch Campground other than just hanging out such as swimming, hiking, whitewater paddling,
 
    and fishing, so you won’t get bored. This camp ground is situated in the striking Salmon River Mountains.
Such a nice selection of attractions and such a nice variety of outdoors recreation are great causes to come.
Going
 for a weekend of camping here in Idaho is something you have to do.
There's a wonderful 13-mile-in-distance grade IV whitewater segment on Rapid River close by, the Float Creek to confluence with Middle Fork Salmon segment. This segment of Rapid River is a cool segment for whitewater kayaking and rafting. In case you are going whitewater kayaking and rafting, you have to always check current conditions. Sunflower Creek is a good place to explore, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Soldier Mountain. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Salmon River Mountains. Good hiking is available along the Big Baldy Ridge Trail, and as expected, this is a great region
 
for people who like lakes, Josephus Lake is a lake close by. Lots of fun is at this campground. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Milk Creek Trail; don't leave without going to Challis National Forest.
