Homers Campground is pretty dry mostly; most of the snow falls during January; July meanwhile is the driest month. That right there is a heap of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Salmon River Mountains has it all. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Payette River - South Fork; the West Side Trail offers hiking at its best.
