| brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Helende Campground drop into the 10's.
This camp ground is one of the pleasant locations to camp here in the Salmon River Mountains. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Salmon River Mountains has to offer. This is a popular location for people from Lowman; on a great day you can take a hike along the Kirkham Ridge Trail. This segment of Idaho is always a delight to go to through camping season.

things in close proximity to Helende Campground, and it is a very good campground. Around Helende Campground you don’t get a lot of precipitation; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow, and the driest of the months is July. So much enjoyable stuff to
do here at Helende Campground, too good to be true. There are some nice whitewater spots on Payette River - South Fork, and nearby you locate the Deadwood River Trail which is a fine hiking trail.
Go for a hike on the Scott Mountain Driveway; nearby you stumble on great
places like Willis Gulch. This campground is so good.
This is a good campground. A quick tour to Helende Creek close to Helende Campground is a pleasant idea, and going for a hike on the Whitehawk Basin Trail is always a tremendous adventure. There's more to do next to Helende
Campground other than just hanging out such as whitewater paddling, and hiking, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen.
