This camp ground is one of the good places to camp here in the Clearwater Mountains. There is so much exciting stuff right next door to Halfway House Campground, and to be at this place is always fun.

Halfway House Campground is a campground prized by the folks of Elk City. Some folks choose Halfway House Campground for the purpose of being in the neighborhood of Nez Perce National Forest.

time of year, Salmon River - South Fork offers some delightful whitewater, and Nez Perce National Forest is worth checking out.
Be careful coming to Halfway House Campground, you might not ever want to return back home again. There are some perfect whitewater spots on Salmon
River, and don't leave Halfway House Campground without first going for a hike along the Elk Creek Trail. Summer at Halfway House Campground comes with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and
through the dark hours in the winter at Halfway House Campground temperatures fall to the 10's. And if that's not enough there's plenty more cool things to do in the Clearwater Mountains. Go for a hike on the Three Blaze Trail, and while you're here, you could pop by Lemon Creek.
The yearly rainfall here at Halfway House Campground is about average; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and the driest of the months is July.
