  This campground has everything. Get your heart beating on the fine whitewater of Payette River - South Fork, and there's wonderful hiking along the Wild Buck Trail. Not much precipitation falls here at Fir Springs Campground; the wettest month of the year is commonly January, that's the one that snows the most; July on the other hand is the driest.
There's such an incredible array of things to do in close proximity to Fir Springs Campground, and if you're looking for a good place to go camping for a couple of days, this is a good choice. This camp
    ground is one of the nice sites to camp here in the Salmon River Mountains.

At Fir Springs Campground during the summer months highs are in the 90's,
and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Fir Springs Campground tend to be in the 10's. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Deadwood River, of course you could also visit Deadwood Reservoir if you're here; it's not far at all.
You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Everybody loves Payette National Forest; do take a hike on the West Side Trail. Granite Creek is in the vicinity of Fir Springs Campground
 
and is always a diversion to stop by; great hiking is available along the Scott Mountain Driveway.
Having a fine time in the Salmon River Mountains is painless. A visit to Boise National Forest revitalizes the soul; the Whitehawk Basin Trail offers hiking at its best. The brilliant choice of local attractions, and the brilliant variety of outdoors recreation are good causes to come. But wait, there's more cool stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains. There's whitewater on Deadwood River for all you adrenaline kick people; why not take a refreshing hike along the Gem County Stock Trail.
There's so many things to do at Fir Springs Campground including fishing, whitewater paddling, hiking, and swimming, so probably you want to stay a bit. Lots of fun is at this campground.
