Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Salmon River, and close by you hit upon the     Coyote Springs Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. If you come at the right time of year, Big Creek offers some fine whitewater; the Sliver Creek Trail is a tremendous hiking trail nearby. Yeah, come up here to the Clearwater Mountains for a good time. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Monumental Creek, and there is a fine hiking trail close by called   the Coxey Creek Trail. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Corey Bar Campground. Cub Creek is a stream that you may encounter during your stay, and going for a hike along the Nez Perce Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Corey Bar Campground while night lows are generally in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Corey Bar Campground are in the 10's.
