You truly shouldn't spend too much time in the city; you need to get out every now and then, and Chinook Campground in Idaho is the outdoors at its best. This campground is so great. There are some delightful whitewater spots on Salmon River - South Fork, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the South Fork Sheep Creek Trail.

| are typically in the 30's, and night lows in the 20's for Chinook Campground. Lots of folks stay here so they can go to Payette National Forest. Some activities here at Chinook Campground are whitewater paddling, and hiking, so in all probability you want to stay a bit. Outdoors folks generally adore this section of Idaho. some flowing water? Try Alex Creek; on a perfect day you can take a hike along the Fall Creek Trail. This campground has so many exciting things to offer. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Salmon River - South Fork, and Payette National Forest is both nice and beautiful. So
much entertaining stuff to do here in the Salmon River Mountains, too perfect to be true. Glide down the rapids of Secesh River in a kayak, and when you're here it's always fun to stop at Ponderosa State Park. At Chinook Campground you don’t see much rainfall; the wettest month
of the year is usually May, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Chinook Campground is near Long Gulch which is definitely worth taking a look at, and going for a hike along the Miners Peak Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area.
