Some nearby water includes Alex Creek, and a great place like Ponderosa State Park is too good to leave out. Having a great time in the Salmon River Mountains is trouble-free. Good hiking is available along the Miners Peak Trail, as expected you could also go to Enos Lake while you're here; it's not far at all.
