This camp ground is one of the splendid sites to camp here in the Wallowa Mountains. For the period of the warm months, highs commonly are in the 90's at Black Lake Campground. Summer night lows dip down to the   50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Black Lake Campground dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Wallowa Mountains. Go for a hike on the Rapid River Trail; get yourself into a kayak and hit Hazard Creek. And if that's not sufficient, there's lots more to do close to Black Lake Campground. Good hiking is available along the Red Ledge Trail, and Horse Pasture Basin is a wonderful site to check out. This is such a fun site for a campground. Paddling on Snake River is so much fun; a gorgeous lake like Black Lake is a delightful site to take a look at. Don't leave Black Lake Campground without first going for a hike along the Old Boise Trail; the panorama of delightful Pyramid Peak is nice.
