Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is relatively in close proximity to West Thompson Campground; a journey here wouldn’t be complete without a tour to nearby Mashamoquet Brook State Park. There is so much exciting stuff to do close to West Thompson Campground, and what a nice place for camping it is.

Going for a hike along the Walkabout Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and if you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Natchaug River. The high level of rainfall makes West Thompson Campground a rather wet place; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain; February on the other hand is the driest.
