| | At Western Box Campground you don’t see much precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Colorado has loads of outdoors activities.
Good hiking is available along the High Lonesome Trail, and Sawmill Meadow is a delightful place to check out. There's a load of outdoors recreation available close at hand such as hiking, fishing, swimming, and whitewater paddling, so you won’t run out of things to do.

All the perfect local attractions close at hand and the close by outdoors recreation will make you glad you came. If the weather is lovely, you get a good view of Lonesome Peak from Western Box Campground, and Arapaho National Forest is a good place to stop at on a wonderful day. There's always Meadow Creek Dam to visit near Western Box Campground, and close by Coberly Gulch is a splendid site to go.
