  As if Upper Piedra Campground wasn't sufficient, you can also go fishing, hiking, whitewater paddling, and swimming, so running out of enjoyable things to do won’t happen. This segment of Colorado is always a delight to stop by through camping season. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! The San Juan and Jemez Mountains is unbeatable! There's great hiking along the Martinez Creek Trail, and spots like San Juan National Forest are brilliant to take a look at.
This is a magnificent campground. Don't leave Upper Piedra Campground without first going
    for a hike along the Fourmile Stock Trail, and Sally Overlook is something you shouldn't miss if you're here. Upper Piedra Campground is pretty dry frequently; July is the wettest month with most rain; June is when it's the driest.
The nice selection of local attractions, and
such a nice variety of outdoors recreation are great motives to come.
At Upper Piedra Campground all through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 30's. Highs all through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 20's with temperatures at Upper Piedra Campground dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. This campground is so magnificent. A day on the slopes of Wolf Creek is just what you need.
Now, you may imagine that's a heap but there's even more amusing things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez
 
Mountains. There are other places here than Upper Piedra Campground, for example O'Connell Lake, and a pleasant place for whitewater paddling is San Juan River. There are delightful places to look at along the Middle Mountain Trail, and Wainwright Draw is a wonderful site to spend some time.
There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Upper Piedra Campground. Go for a hike on the Piedra Stock Trail; some of the water nearby flows, like Gordon Creek. So much enjoyable stuff in the neighborhood of Upper Piedra Campground, and it's always fun being here. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Upper Piedra Campground; Devil Mountain Trail is a tremendous local trail, and you can run the rapids of Piedra River.
This camp ground is positioned in the lovely San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
