A trip to Upper Grottos Campground wouldn’t be complete without a spree to close by White River National Forest, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Chapman Trail.
On a great day at Upper Grottos Campground you can take a hike along the Star Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Fryingpan River.

Upper Grottos Campground truly is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. It's a great idea to check out Ptarmigan Creek, it's close to Upper Grottos Campground, and there is a
brilliant hiking trail close by called the Last Chance Trail. The great selection of local attractions, and the close by outdoors recreation will make you delighted you came.
Summer at Upper Grottos Campground comes with high temperatures in the 70's while overnight lows are
generally in the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Upper Grottos Campground fall into the 0's. Get wet paddling on Roaring Fork, and people from Edwards love to come here.
As if Upper Grottos Campground wasn't enough, you can also go whitewater paddling, and hiking, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen.
