| | In the 16 years that I have lived in the area, there has never been white water ( for rafting, canoeing, kayaking etc. I presume) in the Brazos. I think you are referring to the Chama River which starts in the Colorado San Juans and flows through New Mexico into the Rio Grande in Espanola ,NM. Plenty of white water there in the spring time. Campground is right by the Notch Trail, and get covered with water paddling on Rio de los Pinos. This campground is always a joy. Take a hike on the Spruce Hole Trail, and the Posos Trail offers hiking at its best. This is such a charming campground. Since you're here at Trujillo
| Meadows Campground why not stop at Cumbres Pass, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Trujillo Meadows Campground; Red Lake Trail is a good local trail. Everybody loves Heron Lake State Park, and on a wonderful day you get a fine sight of Neff Mountain from Trujillo Meadows Campground. You just ought to have a thing about the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. There's glorious hiking along the La Manga Stock Driveway, and float down the rapids of Conejos River in a kayak. Man, is there lots of amusing things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. | |

Trujillo Meadows is right here at Trujillo Meadows Campground, and do have a look at Trujillo Meadows Dam while you're here. Trujillo Meadows Campground sees pretty high levels of rain; most of the snow falls through March, and June is when it's the driest. If you like the
outdoors, you'll like Trujillo Meadows Campground. El Vado Lake State Park is worth stopping at if you're at Trujillo Meadows Campground, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Rio Brazos. High temperatures at Trujillo Meadows Campground during the warm days of summer are in the
60's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Trujillo Meadows Campground.
