Trujillo Meadows Campground, San Juan Mountains, Colorado   You seem to have missed letting people know about the great trout fishing at Trujillo Meadows. I have never been there that I haven't hooked a big one. Says Bruce Hewitt In the 16 years that I have lived in the area, there has never been white water ( for rafting, canoeing, kayaking etc. I presume) in the Brazos. I think you are referring to the Chama River which starts in the Colorado San Juans and flows through New Mexico into the Rio Grande in Espanola ,NM. Plenty of white water there in the spring time. Rio Brazos is a splendid whitewater spot near Trujillo Meadows Campground, and the Posos Trail is a pleasant hiking trail nearby. A campground like this is too good to miss. Going for a hike on the Spruce Hole Trail is always a great adventure, and you can run the rapids of Conejos River. Near Trujillo Meadows Campground you discover the Notch Trail which is a nice hiking trail, and El Vado Lake State Park is a beautiful site any time of year. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the area in the vicinity of Trujillo Meadows Campground has to offer. From Trujillo Meadows Campground you acquire a great view of Neff Mountain, and on a fine day you can take a hike along the Red   Lake Trail. Yep, outdoors amusing things truly is bountiful here in the San Juan Mountains. A tour to Trujillo Meadows rejuvenates the soul, and there's some exciting stuff to see at Trujillo Meadows Dam right next door to Trujillo Meadows Campground. Trujillo Meadows Campground is one of the sites to camp here in the San Juan Mountains. This is a good campground. Heron Lake State Park is a magnificent spot to stretch your legs a bit, and since you're here you can take a hike along the La Manga Stock Driveway. Trujillo Meadows Campground is a quite wet place regularly with much rainfall; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most snow; the driest of the months is June. High temperatures at Trujillo Meadows Campground during the warmest time of the year are in the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Trujillo Meadows Campground drop into the 0's. There's such an incredible array of things to do right next door to Trujillo Meadows Campground, and you always have a great time when you're here. There's no way someone can get bored here in the San Juan Mountains. Get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Rio de los Pinos; Cumbres Pass is a wonderful site to spend some time. Colorado has lots of outdoors activities. All the wonderful local attractions close at hand and such a wonderful variety of outdoors recreation will make you pleased you came. It's really not good for you to be in a building every day; you need to get out of the house now and then, and Trujillo Meadows Campground in Colorado is a really great place to spend some time.
