| | I've been going to Yampa since I was around 5 years of age. I'm not usually too keen on seeing new hotels being established in sleepy mountain towns, but The Oak Tree Inn is an exception. It's a welcome addition to this amazing little town and a great retreat when the snows come. Says J Driggs

is a great selection. Get your heart pumping on the delightful whitewater of Sweetwater Creek, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the High Trail. As if Trappers Lake Campground wasn't sufficient, you can also go swimming, fishing, hiking, and whitewater paddling,
| so you won’t get bored. You'll discover a stunning lake called Crescent Lake near Trappers Lake Campground; on a brilliant day you can take a hike along the South Derby Trail. Summertime highs at Trappers Lake Campground mostly tend to be in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Trappers Lake Campground. Yampa River Legacy State Park is a wonderful place to stretch your legs a bit, and everybody loves Amphitheatre.

cool things to do close to Trappers Lake Campground, and spending time at this campground is incredibly fun. This is really a good campground. The panorama of beautiful Himes Peak near Trappers Lake Campground is great, and a great spot for whitewater paddling is Grizzly Creek.
If the weather is magnificent here at Trappers Lake Campground, you can go for a hike along the Ute Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend White River - North Fork. That right there is a load already, but it keeps on going;
Trappers Lake Campground has it all. Take a side journey to Skinny Fish Creek, and going for a hike along the Oyster Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. The surroundings of this campground have so much stuff to offer. So many local attractions
and such a nice variety of outdoors recreation are good reasons to come. If you are in Colorado throughout camping season, you must go camping.
