  I've been going to Yampa since I was around 5 years of age. I'm not usually too keen on seeing new hotels being established in sleepy mountain towns, but The Oak Tree Inn is an exception. It's a welcome addition to this amazing little town and a great retreat when the snows come. Says J Driggs

This campground is so great. If you've got cabin fever from too much time inside, No problem at all; Trappers Lake Campground in Colorado is a nice selection.
Trappers Lake Campground is pretty dried out typically; the wettest month of the year is frequently
    October, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is January.
This is a great campground. Paddling on Grizzly Creek is so much fun, and going for a hike along the Oyster Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. The view of Himes Peak from
Trappers Lake Campground is pretty, and Skinny Fish Creek is near Trappers Lake Campground and is always a pleasure to go to.
During the warm days of summer highs here at Trappers Lake Campground reach the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Trappers Lake Campground. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you won’t be let down; there's swimming, whitewater paddling, fishing, and hiking, so you won’t get bored. A
 
visit to Colorado is not complete without some camping.
Amphitheatre is right here at Trappers Lake Campground, and there is a wonderful hiking trail nearby called the High Trail. And that's not all you can do here at Trappers Lake Campground. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Sweetwater Creek, and on a splendid day you can take a hike along the South Derby Trail. White River - North Fork has a great whitewater paddling spot close by; since you're here you can take a hike along the Ute Trail.
There's such a great deal of things to do close to Trappers Lake Campground, and it is a fun site for young and old.
A stunning lake like Crescent Lake in the vicinity of Trappers Lake Campground is a perfect location to explore, and a visit to Yampa River Legacy State Park when you're here is never a bad idea. The perfect variety of local attractions and all the outdoors recreation will make you delighted you came.
