Smokehouse Campground, Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, Colorado   With so much stuff to do in Colorado you'll never get bored. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. You can run the rapids of San Miguel River close to Smokehouse Campground, and you positively ought to take a look at Sweitzer State Park if you're here. There are so many exciting things to do in the neighborhood of Smokehouse Campground, and it certainly is a great campground. This is such a beautiful campground. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then     we recommend San Miguel River, and on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Ray Trail. There's a load of outdoors recreation available in close proximity such as hiking, and whitewater paddling, so probably you want to stay for a while. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Smokehouse Campground. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Grassy Lake Trail, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Fortyseven and Meadow Trail. Ok, time to go camping, so what do you say? Smokehouse Campground in Colorado is a really great place to spend some time. Some people select this campground all through their tour to Uncompahgre National Forest. Smokehouse Campground is a good camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Get your heart pumping on the perfect   whitewater of Escalante Creek, and there are plenty of people from Montrose here. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! The Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains is excellent! While you're here at Smokehouse Campground you can take a hike along the Fortyseven Trail. During the summertime months highs here at Smokehouse Campground get into the 90's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Smokehouse Campground temperatures drop to the 10's. Take a hike on the Cottonwood Trail, and Uncompahgre National Forest is a great place to go to on a gorgeous day. It is very dry here at Smokehouse Campground generally; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is June.
