Bear Gulch is a perfect location to explore, and if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along the Silver Circle Trail.
Smith Creek Campground is one of the places to camp here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. This is in fact a good campground. Hiking along the Rudolph Mountain Trail is nice fun, and paddling on Grape Creek is so much fun.
