| | During the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Promontory Campground. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Promontory Campground temperatures drop to the 0's. So many local attractions and such a glorious variety of outdoors recreation will make you glad you came. | playing golf at Shining Mountain Golf Club is always a delight. Promontory Campground is a splendid camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the Front Range. That right there is lots of cool things already but it goes on, the Front Range has it all. Don't leave Promontory Campground without first going for a hike along the Schubarth Trail, and Wildcat Gulch is another glorious spot to have a look at close by. Canyon Trail, and during your spree here you'll meet some people from Cascade for sure. Visiting Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. Lakes are splendid; Rampart Reservoir is a lake that's right next door to Promontory Campground.
You need to get out; Promontory Campground, Colorado is a pleasant spot for getting out. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Balanced Rock Trail, and Nichols Dam is a beautiful place, beyond doubt worth a visit. This campground is so striking. Don't leave Promontory Campground
without popping by Castlewood State Park, and glide down the rapids of South Platte River in a kayak. Camping in Colorado is such an enjoyable thing to do. Some of the things you can do here at Promontory Campground are playing golf, whitewater paddling, swimming, hiking, and
fishing, so it's completely out of the question to get bored. Quite a lot of cool stuff to do near Promontory Campground; it is a pleasant escape from the mundane.
