If you come to this campground, you will have a delightful time for sure. There's   whitewater on Roaring Fork for all you adrenaline junkies, and don't miss out on a tour to Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park if you're here. There's more to do close to Portal Campground other than just hanging out such as swimming, hiking, fishing, and whitewater paddling, so there's no way to get bored. You simply should like Portal Campground. Good hiking is available along the Matchless Trail. For the period of the long summer days at Portal Campground temperatures are regularly in the 70's.
