Pitkin Campground, Sawatch Range, Colorado   If you have a thing about the outdoors, you won’t be let down; there's whitewater paddling, swimming, hiking, and fishing, so running out of fun things to do won’t happen. Now, you may assume that's plenty but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Sawatch Range. Have a good hiking adventure along the Pitkin Stock Driveway, and Middle Quartz Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting. Be careful coming to Pitkin Campground, you might not ever want to return home again. There is a delightful hiking trail in close proximity to Pitkin Campground called the Gunsight Trail. While you're here at Pitkin Campground you can take a hike along the Coyote Park Trail, and close by you find great places like Limekiln Gulch. Loads of people camp here for the purpose of being in the vicinity of Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park. The surroundings of this campground have such a great deal of things to offer. Here at Pitkin Campground you'll in   all probability meet some people from Pitkin, and get covered with water paddling on Lake Creek. A journey to Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is recommended, and in case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Taylor River. This is in fact a great campground. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Monarch while you're here, and whitewater paddling is tremendous on Clear Creek. At Pitkin Campground through the months of summer highs are in the 70's while night lows are frequently in the 30's. Highs through the wintertime are regularly in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Pitkin Campground. Do set aside some time for Depler Park if you're here at Pitkin Campground. Lakes are splendid; Maid Lake is a lake that's in the vicinity of Pitkin Campground. And if that's not sufficient there's a load more cool things to do in the Sawatch Range. Looking for a great spree? Curecanti National Recreation Area is rather close to Pitkin Campground, and the Gold Creek Union Park Trail is a delightful hiking trail close by. Pitkin Campground is a location that is relatively dried out regularly; December is the wettest month with most snow; the driest of the months is June. Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and Pitkin Campground in Colorado is such a nice place. There is so much fun stuff to do near Pitkin Campground, and it definitely is a nice campground.
