  The San Juan Mountains scenery is always gorgeous. The nice variety of local attractions and the nice variety of outdoors recreation are good reasons to come.
Visit First Fork Piedra River while you're here at Piedra Hunter Campground, and Piedra River is a wonderful whitewater spot nearby. As long as you go for the outdoors you will go for Colorado. Yep, outdoors cool stuff truly is bountiful here in the San Juan Mountains. Piedra River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by; the Devil Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best.
High temperatures
    at Piedra Hunter Campground through the months of summer are in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while Piedra Hunter Campground night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's. This is such a magnificent
campground. Navajo Lake State Park is a good location to stretch your legs a bit, and going for a hike along the Fourmile Stock Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. So many fun things next to Piedra Hunter Campground; you always have a nice time when you're here.
Outdoors recreation is bountiful, some of the enjoyable stuff you can do is whitewater paddling, and hiking, so you won’t run out of things to do. The annual rain here at Piedra Hunter Campground is about average; August is the wettest month with most rain, and June meanwhile

There's no way anyone can get bored here in the San Juan Mountains. You might want to pay a visit to First Box Canyon since you're here at Piedra Hunter Campground, and hiking along the Piedra Stock Trail is nice fun.
