| Campground you acquire some perfect water scenery at Vallecito Dam, and when you're here it's always fun to stop by Navajo Lake State Park. But wait, there's more enjoyable things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. San Juan National Forest is both tremendous and pretty, and it's close to Old Timbers Campground, and you might also want to pay a visit to Gut Canyon while you're here at Old Timbers Campground. to enjoy the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Lots of people from Bayfield come to Old Timbers Campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Canyon Creek offers some brilliant whitewater. Outdoors recreation is plentiful, some of the exciting stuff you can do is swimming,
fishing, whitewater paddling, and hiking, so running out of enjoyable things to do won’t happen. There is a fine hiking trail close to Old Timbers Campground called the Devil Mountain Trail; get yourself into a kayak and hit Vallecito Creek. This is no place for people who
don’t like to enjoy themselves. On a glorious day at Old Timbers Campground you can take a hike along the Pine-Piedra Stock Driveway; do set aside some time for Dunsworth Park if you're here at Old Timbers Campground. So many local attractions and such a delightful variety
of outdoors recreation are sure to keep you coming back again and again. Through the summer months here at Old Timbers Campground, high temperatures commonly get into the 70's, and the night is a little colder of course, regularly in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime
are normally in the 30's while Old Timbers Campground overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's. Old Timbers Campground is a nice camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
