Mosca Campground, Colorado   We've camped here since our now 40ish childrlen were young. They are now taking their children there. Mosca is beautiful both to the eye and the heart. It is a little more difficult now that there is no potable water, but one can use lake water for dishes, and must bring in drinking and cooking water.Fishing is great - the deer put on a show eve4ry night. The camp hostess, Mary, is there is to help you with problems, and to give great advice.Other than the water problem, this is the greatest camp ground I've ever occupied! Says Judith Reece     Don't miss out on a visit to Curecanti National Recreation Area while you're here at Mosca Campground; needless to say Rocky Brook is a pretty stream that is worth checking out. This campground is a great location to take a look at. Going for a hike along the Granite Basin Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and close by you locate splendid locations like Buck Gulch. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! Mosca Campground is excellent! The Star Trail offers hiking at its best, and Taylor River is a brilliant whitewater spot close by. Mosca Campground gets very little precipitation; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow, and June meanwhile is the driest month. Coming to this campground is always a great idea. Mosca Campground is a spot with many visitors from Almont, and   in case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Roaring Fork. All the outdoors fun things in the neighborhood of Mosca Campground will keep you coming back over and over. You definitely must stop by San Isabel National Forest if you're here at Mosca Campground. If the weather is good here at Mosca Campground, you can go for a hike along the Onemile Cattle Trail; a lake nearby is Spring Creek Reservoir. Mosca Campground is right by the Matchless Trail, and Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is one of the destinations that are nice to explore close by. Hiking along the Summerville Trail is glorious fun, and Snowmass is a very popular ski area in close proximity. High temperatures at Mosca Campground throughout the warm days of summer are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 30's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are typically in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Mosca Campground fall into the-10's. Spring Creek Dam is worth visiting while you're here, and Lake Creek has a good whitewater paddling spot close by.
