Mosca Campground, Colorado Custom Search   We've camped here since our now 40ish childrlen were young. They are now taking their children there. Mosca is beautiful both to the eye and the heart. It is a little more difficult now that there is no potable water, but one can use lake water for dishes, and must bring in drinking and cooking water.Fishing is great - the deer put on a show eve4ry night. The camp hostess, Mary, is there is to help you with problems, and to give great advice.Other than the water problem, this is the greatest camp ground I've ever occupied! If the weather is good here at Mosca Campground, you can go for a hike along the Matchless Trail, and since you're here, you could also pop by beautiful Spring Creek Reservoir. Any time is a pleasant time at Mosca Campground if you like the outdoors. Whitewater paddling is pleasant on Lake Creek. Near Mosca Campground you come across the Granite Basin Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail; Buck Gulch is close by, and is a delightful spot. This is such a pretty campground. A journey to Mosca Campground wouldn’t be complete without a tour to nearby San Isabel National Forest, and don't miss out on a journey to Curecanti National Recreation Area if   you're here. Throughout the summer, highs commonly are in the 70's at Mosca Campground. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 30's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Mosca Campground are in the-10's. This campground is always a joy. Going for a hike along the Star Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; Roaring Fork has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. The Summerville Trail is a great hiking trail in the neighborhood of Mosca Campground, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Taylor River. Lots of folks from Almont come to Mosca Campground, and Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is one of the destinations that are wonderful to check out nearby. Going for a hike on the Onemile Cattle Trail is always a fine adventure, and delightful water scenery is available at Spring Creek Dam in the vicinity of Mosca Campground. Mosca Campground is a location that is quite dehydrated commonly; during December this area sees the most snow, and June on the other hand is the driest.
