Having a nice time in the Sawatch Range is simple. There's wonderful hiking along the Coyote Park
Trail; if you haven’t been to Curecanti National Recreation Area, you must schedule some time for it since you're here. Going for a hike on the Fooses Creek Trail is always a delightful adventure. Lakes are great; Hunt Lake is a lake that's in close proximity to Monarch Park Campground.
There's so much to do at Monarch Park Campground including fishing, hiking, swimming, and whitewater paddling, so you won’t run out of things to do.
Don't leave Monarch Park Campground without first going for a hike along the Browns Creek Trail; a great site for whitewater
paddling is Arkansas River. During your tour to Monarch Park Campground you'll meet some folks from Sargents for sure, and Banana Mountain is clearly visible from Monarch Park Campground. Throughout the summer at Monarch Park Campground highs are regularly in the 70's. All through
the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 30's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-20's to Monarch Park Campground.
