Mix Lake Campground, San Juan and Jemez Mountains, Colorado   The great selection of local attractions, and such a great variety of outdoors recreation are wonderful reasons to come. There's loads of outdoors recreation available close at hand such as swimming, fishing, whitewater paddling, and hiking, so most likely you want to stay for a while. This is such a splendid campground. Why not go to Platoro Dam since you're here; one of the governing features of the surroundings of Mix Lake Campground is Forest King Mountain. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here     in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Lakes? Sure, Mix Lake is nearby, and whitewater paddling is nice on Rio Grande. There is so much exciting stuff in the neighborhood of Mix Lake Campground; when you spend some time here you will feel like a whole new person. Go for a hike on the Hot Creek Stock Driveway; there is a great hiking trail close by called the Bear Lake Trail. Mix Lake Campground is frequently visited by campers from Del Norte. Mix Lake Campground is a tremendous camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. This location is great, just check out all the amusing things to do near Mix Lake Campground. Conejos River has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby, and close by you stumble on the San Juan Stock Driveway which is a great hiking trail. This campground is so splendid. On a good   day at Mix Lake Campground you can take a hike along the Lake Fork Trail; folks from Del Norte love to come here. Mix Lake Campground gets a good deal of water; all through the month of March you get the most snow around here, and the driest of the months is June. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The San Juan and Jemez Mountains is so good! Skiing at Wolf Creek is one of those things you just have to do, and going for a hike on the Conejos Trail is always a perfect adventure. Throughout the warm months highs here at Mix Lake Campground reach the 60's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Mix Lake Campground. Colorado is a good outdoors state. You might want to pay a visit to Sawmill Gulch since you're here at Mix Lake Campground, and get dripping wet paddling on Wolf Creek.
