  We got ''stuck'' with this campground because all the campgrounds at Jefferson Lake were full. But what a blessing in disguise. This campground does not have water or trash pickup (the water pump is disabled and has a sign that it is ''closed''). And it isn't nearly as close to Jefferson Lake as the other three. But the scenery is beautiful, and you will have a lot more privacy than at the ones by Jefferson Lake. Sites 1 through 4 have lots of trees. Sites 6, 9, 10 and 11 have partial tree coverage. Sites 5, 7, 8, and 12 have few or no trees. There is
    fishing in nearby Michigan creek. The creek is fairly close by (a few hundred feet or less from all sites. Great campground. Says Jeff Pruett

Head up to Keystone and strap some skis to your feet, and some of the water nearby flows, like French Creek. For the duration of
the long summer days highs here at Michigan Creek Campground get into the 70's. Summer night lows dip down to the 30's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Michigan Creek Campground. At Michigan Creek Campground you don’t see much rain; July is the month that gets the most rain while January is frequently the driest month. Be careful coming to Michigan Creek Campground, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Paddling on Clear Creek is so much fun; the Wheeler Trail is a fine hiking trail close by.
 
While you're here at Michigan Creek Campground you will meet lots of folks from nearby Silverthorne, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Argentine North Fork Trail. This is such a fun location for a campground. Get covered with water paddling on Woods Creek; on a great day you can take a hike along the Burro Trail. Lakes are splendid; Lower Michigan Reservoir is a lake that's next to Michigan Creek Campground; while you're here you can take a hike along the Burning Bear Trail.
Tenmile Creek has a glorious whitewater paddling spot close by; the scenery at Lower Michigan Dam is picturesque. If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Michigan Creek Campground. Antelope Gulch is near Michigan Creek Campground and is a delightful place, and Arapaho National Forest is a great place.
This campground is always a pleasure. Have a great hiking adventure along the Old Boreas Wagon Road, and a visit to Spinney State Park revives the soul.
