There is a brilliant hiking trail right next door to McDonald Flats Campground called the Slate Creek Trail; there are other locations here than McDonald Flats Campground, for example Black Creek Reservoir. Some people stay here when they come to pop by Arapaho National Forest. This campground is so glorious.
