You get a great view of Parrott Peak from Kroeger Campground; there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Hermosa Creek. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Kroeger Campground. There's whitewater on Dolores River for all you thrill seekers; if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Bear Creek Trail. Visit Burnt Timber Creek while you're here at Kroeger Campground, and you'll meet a lot of people from Hesperus here. A number of people stay at Kroeger Campground to be in the neighborhood of Mancos State Park. The surroundings of this campground have so much stuff to offer. Hesperus Ski Center is a good local ski area, and going for a hike along the Gold Run Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area.
