As long as you fancy the outdoors you will fancy Colorado. At Island Lake Campground during the long summer days highs are in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 10's for Island Lake Campground. The Cottonwood Lakes Foot Trail offers hiking at its best, and a picturesque lake like Little Gem Reservoir is a great place to pop by. A number of folks stay at this campground to be in the vicinity of Grand Mesa |
National Forest.
This campground is so nice. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Gunnison River, and Island Lake Campground is right by the Foot Trail.

| Campground; High Trail is a magnificent local trail, and whitewater paddling is tremendous on Kannah Creek. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff at Island Lake Campground. Don't leave Island Lake Campground without stopping by Grand Mesa National Forest, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Blue Grouse Trail.

At this campground you will always have a nice time. Powderhorn is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood, and you don’t have to go far from Island Lake Campground to observe the water at Little Gem Dam. A trip to Island Lake Campground wouldn’t be complete without a visit
to close by Sweitzer State Park; Kannah Creek is a wonderful whitewater spot nearby.
Island Lake Campground is pretty dry frequently; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain; January on the other hand is the driest. There are plenty of people from Cedaredge
here at Island Lake Campground, and hiking along the Crag Crest Trail is great fun. Island Lake Campground is a campground relatively often visited by folks of Cedaredge.
So many cool things in the vicinity of Island Lake Campground; when you're here you're always having a
good time. Outdoors recreation is abundant, some of the entertaining stuff you can do is fishing, swimming, whitewater paddling, and hiking, so running out of fun stuff to do won’t happen.
