| | Outdoors recreation is bountiful, some of the cool stuff you can do is hiking, whitewater paddling, playing golf, fishing, and swimming, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. This campground has everything. Really good skiing awaits you at Breckenridge; Ryan Gulch is a brilliant spot to spend some time.

whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Tenmile Creek. Heaton Campground is near Old Dillon Dam which is a beautiful place undeniably worth visiting.
Now, you may assume that's a heap but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at
| Heaton Campground. Take a hike on the Wheeler Dillion Trail, and Arapaho National Forest is both good and pretty. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Miners Creek Trail; Giberson Bay is in close proximity and always glorious to check out.
Colorado is a pleasant spot for outdoors people. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Heaton Campground; Ptarmigan Trail is a great local trail, and the view of gorgeous Lake Hill is magnificent.

for all you adrenaline kick people.
Go for a hike on the Mesa-Cortina Trail. Lakes are great; Old Dillon Reservoir is a lake that's near Heaton Campground. It is very dried up here at Heaton Campground frequently; July is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February.
