Getting to this primitive campground could be a tad demanding, but it's well worth it.       This camp ground is one of the magnificent places to camp here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Hay Press Campground is a very popular old favorite campground among the people from Gateway. There's a lot of outdoors recreation   available in close proximity such as fishing, hiking, whitewater paddling, swimming, and playing golf, so you won’t run out of things to do. The tremendous choice of local attractions, and the tremendous variety of outdoors recreation will unquestionably have you coming back many times. In Colorado you never run out of outdoors entertaining stuff. Highline State Park is both glorious and stunning, and it's right next door to Hay Press Campground, and there       are wonderful places to discover along the Ute Creek Trail. And that's not everything you can do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Frank Moore Canyon is right next door to Hay Press Campground and is a great place; going   for a hike on the Rim Trail is always a good adventure. This is a good campground. If you're here at Hay Press Campground and you like golf, you can stop at Redlands Mesa Golf Club; close by you discover the Snowshoe Trail which is a fine hiking trail.
